Human race is facing all sorts of illnesses and diseases. Residents of Homabay County are not exceptions. Surprisingly, 99% of bodily, mental illnesses, and diseases are because of decisions we make. That said, we join other health-oriented organizations and individuals in research, program and project development and policy formulation and implementation in order to create demand for prompt and appropriate health services in Homabay County, Kenya.

SCORE CBO (Strengthening Community Resilience against Extreme Situations Community Based Organization) is committed to improving community health as a key component of resilience. Our health initiatives are designed to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities, ensuring they are better equipped to face and recover from health-related crises.

Key Health Initiatives:

1. Health Education and Awareness:

  • Community Workshops: Conduct educational workshops on preventive health measures, hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Health Campaigns: Organize awareness campaigns on critical health issues such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, and COVID-19 to promote healthy behaviors and practices.

2. Outreach Services:

  • Mobile Clinics: Deploy mobile health clinics to provide medical services in remote and underserved areas, offering basic healthcare, vaccinations, and screenings.
  • Health Camps: Set up periodic health camps in collaboration with local healthcare providers to offer free medical check-ups and treatments.

3. Training and Capacity Building:

  • First Responders: Train community members to become first responders in medical emergencies, ensuring timely and effective care during crises.
  • Health Workers: Provide training for community health workers on emergency preparedness, basic healthcare, and disease management.

4. Mental Health Support:

  • Counseling Services: Offer counseling and psychological support to individuals affected by trauma, stress, and mental health issues.
