SCORE CBO engages in need-based advocacy to address the specific and pressing needs of communities in Homabay, Migori, and beyond. Our advocacy efforts focus on ensuring that community voices are heard and that their needs are met through appropriate policies, resources, and interventions.

Key Areas of Need-Based Advocacy:

1. Healthcare Access:

  • Healthcare Services: Advocate for improved access to healthcare services, including the establishment of more health facilities, provision of essential medicines, and deployment of qualified healthcare professionals in underserved areas.
  • Maternal and Child Health: Promote policies and programs that support maternal and child health, including prenatal and postnatal care, immunizations, and nutrition.

2. Education:

  • Quality Education: Campaign for better educational facilities, adequate learning materials, and well-trained teachers to ensure quality education for all children.

The organization was established in 2011 in Homa Bay County as an empowerment program themed “Supporting Primary Education among Kenyans- SPEAK” by five widows who were victims and survivors of gender based violence, teenage pregnancy and HIV.
